In order to celebrate all the non-Mexicans that will be celebrating Mexican independence today, I decided to have a cocktail with lunch.
I chose Maker’s Mark on the rocks to go with my sandwich from Fuel Cafe (awesome food, FYI, top 25 in Denver). Maker’s Mark is a straight bourbon, meaning it’s from Bourbon County, KY and has been aged for at least two years. However, if straight bourbon is aged for less than 4 years, you have to say the duration. According to their site, Maker’s is aged for a minimum of four years.
To me, maker’s tastes a bit like cherry, but that might be because I often will have it in a manhattan. Either way, it’s a sweeter whiskey and is super tasty.
And they melt the wax and had dip each bottle, which is certainly pretty sweet.
